I have my machine setup with multiple
user accounts for security purposes primarily using
administrator mode for installations and HD cleaning.
I use a limited user mode account that I use most often.

I can type messages and recieve typed messages to/from
people but, voice chat in limited mode does not work at
all.

How do I need to setup Windows Messenger through
administrator mode to allow me to have voice chat in a
limited user mode account? Is this possible?

Regards

Greetings,

Voice conversations on Limited Accounts do work, but only if the Internet Connection Firewall
is disengaged. Unfortunately, the Internet Connection Firewall will only allow accounts with
Administrator privileges to open/close the correct ports automatically for Messenger voice
conversations to be successful. To correct this, you'll simply need to turn off the
firewall -- to do so, click Start, then All Programs, then Accessories, then Communications,
then click Network Connections. Right click your network/internet connection, then click
Properties. Click the Advanced Tab, and verify that the Internet Connection Firewall is
unchecked.

Please note, before turning off the Internet Connection Firewall, please visit WindowsUpdate
if you haven't recently to make sure you have the latest patches for your Windows XP
installation:
