I am trying to import files from my camera on a DVD. they show up as .VRO and
..VOB files, that are not supported by movie maker but can be played on Media
Player. I would like to edit these movies, how can I change the format to one
that is accessable by Media Player?

I tried this and it worked for me.

Copy the file from the Camera DVD to a location on your computer.

Change the file name for xxxxx.VRO to xxxxx.mp2 then try importing it into
Movie Maker.

Share my experience of converting and editing VRO files.

I had the same problem with you and It took me 5 months to locate one program that can not only convert VRO files but also keeps the sound in sync with the picture!

There are alot of defective converters out there! I am excited to encounter the following progarm which really solve my problem. It is a professional one in converting VRO files from my Sony HandyCam DCR-DVD405 to AVI for editing in Adobe Promiere and uploading to Youtube. And you can transcode your VRO files to WMV or AVI for your movie Maker or media player

Good luck.
