Are there any vob free capture software out there that work,everyone but the
pay one are the only ones so far that work Help!!!!!!!,

I think you have some confusion here. A vob is a 'video object block' - part
of a DVD movie.

If you intend to make your own DVD movie then have a look at
http://www.videohelp.com/dvd which will explain all about the several
permissable DVD formats.
If you have a capture card in your comp. it will have come with software to
capture a movie. It might not be in a suitable format but thats another
issue.
Assuming that you have your movie in a suitable .mpg format then it has to
'authored' to make the menus and video files required by a DVD movie -
(ifo's, .bup's, .vob's)

If you just intend to copy an existing movie DVD onto your comp. then look

I only have a dvd player.I am running windows 98SE.What I am trying to do is
pause my dvd player at any point and capture a still picture,bmp,
jpg,ect.They are a home dvd movie off my Children and grand Children so I
would like to Capture stills of the dvd home movie.I do not have a Cature
Card ,But do have about 20 capture programs one or two work but are very
expensive.Oh yes and when I pause home Dvd movie and try to capture a still
picture,All the free software copy everything on my desktop except still
video.And where the captured video shoul be is nothing but a Black square
..bmp. Thanks for any advise or help.
