Hi,
I have been using vnc to control my workstation where i work however
recently the administrator has blocked registry editing, SO i cannot
change my vnc password as it is always stored into the registry. I was
wondering if there was another program simular to VNC that saves
passwords as a file as apposed to the registry, or is there a way to
adapt the normal vnc to a "virtual" registry of some sort. Thank you in
advance.

Just as your admin to change it for you, since it's their network, their
computers, their security, I'm sure that if you are permitted to run VNC
that they will change it if you ask.

That is a rather strange situation. Since the VNC settings are in the HKCU
registry hive, that would surely also mean that you can't change the settings
for any other program, either? Such an arrangement would be near-unworkable.

The only VNC settings that are elsewhere are those which pertain to running
it as a service. This is necessarily the case as the service starts before
any user-hive is loaded.
