Hello,

Yesterday I've downloaded Vista RC1 (Build 5600) and tried to install it
into Vmware 4.5.

VMware Configiuration for "Windows XP Professional". But I think this has
only relevance for Vmware tools.

The installation stops after "Loading files ...".

I burned the ISO-Image on DVD -> doeas not work.
Imagedrive -> does not work

Any idea?

VMWare does not yet have a version they deem compatible for Vista.

Use VirtualPC 2007 beta (free).

With Virtual PC 2007 there is a problem with DVD recgonition. therefore i
suggest you use the ISO option. If you don't have an ISO file then convert
the DVD to ISO.

I tried using the DVD to install Vista on VPC and got an error mesage. As
soon as i used the ISO file it installed without any problem.

Incidentally i have successfully installed Vista on VMWare Server (free)
many times without any problem. It doesn't take as long to install Vista on
VMWare server as it does on VPC too.

maybe you should just wait for a while
I waited for almost 20 minutes before 'loading files...' started showing
some progress!

I had installed earlier versions into VMWare, but admittedly have not tried lately.

Hello.
My VMWARE version is VMware Workstation 5.5.1.
I installed Vista Build 5384 beta2 version and Windows works very well.
But I can't finish install RC1(Build 5600) such like Fry.
So, I left hold screen about 5 hours and my monitor shows same screen.
Is RC1 differ from Beta2 Version?

Since VMware is not a Microsoft product, you should be
talking to VMware about problems with their software!

The last time I went to the VMware site, there was
information about Vista compatibility would be provided in
future products!

I guess Voltaire was right when he stated over 2 centuries
ago "Common sense isn't very common!"
