Any way to feed windows media player with audio from a
sound card's input jack and have it produce the funky
visualizations off of that audio source?

Usually line-in would be recording from audio device
using the encoder, then saving as a track to play with
wmp.For live input to play to wmp,try tools, options in
the player for adjustments, maybe with the encoder in
small window and the player in full,it might be possible,
streaming audio.Sounds like alot of extra effort.

Yeah - http://www.chronotron.com has a plug-in for WMP that does this. :)
