Hi,
I'm just about ready to take the plunge. I use Visual
Studio SP5 and must keep this so that current systems can
be maintained. However I want to load and come up to speed
with VS.Net. All I've read says I can load VS.Net onto the
same machine as VS and they happily coexist.

What's the news from the trenches? Is this correct or
should I get another server for VS.Net?

TIA Peter

It will work if VS.NET is installed after the previous version.
Sometimes bugs about VB6's data environment or with classic ASP pages on
the same machine are reported.

I've been working with both versions on same machine with no problem. However, if you ever have to set up a computer from scratch with both versions, always install Visual Studio 6 before you install Visual Studio .NET.
I failed to install Visual Studio 6 after installing Visual Studio .NET on new computer.

As always, it's better to install the programs in order of their
release date.

Hi Herfried,

I have a very good newsreader here, only the release date is 1979 (most
things that are from before that date are good) can you use it and deinstall
all the programs before that date first?

(Not true, just for fun)

;-)

I should have written "... versions of the same program in order...".

But: EOT.
