Hi,

I recently downloaded VS.NET Pro 2k3 from my university server and its
contained within 3 zip files. I have to extract install.zip to
install, msdn.zip to install MSDN, and another tools.zip for other
tools. I wanted to recreate the VS disks from which these were
packaged. I thought if someone who has these disks could give me the
contents of their disks so that I can burn my own copy on CDs and not
have to keep local HD copies that take up 3 GBs. If you don't know how
to do this, I can provide a program that will generate a text file of
the contents of the disks and you can send me the output that was
generated.

Thank you,

Jay.

Hi,

I think this would be illegal under the license agreement. Can't you ask the
university IT dept to help you out?

As an MSDNAA Administrator, I agree with Steve. If you got the downloads
through your department's MSDNAA membership, my understanding is that
students are not permitted to make copies of distribution CD's (no matter
how created). The only exceptions are documentation.
The person who set up the downloads, probably offered the files you got
rather than .iso's to discourage unauthorized copying.
Check with your MSDNAA administrator. I don't claim to be an expert.
