Has anyone read any articles which discuss DNA Architecture and the use of
Visual Studio to create database applications?
We talk about Data Access layers, Business layers and Presentations layers
being different programs and then focus our development on using Visual
Studio to create Connection, DataAdapter and DataGrid object cramming all
three access layers into one class.

I discuss multitiered architectures in my book as have some of the other
authors. ADO.NET and VS.NET are used by a variety of developers from all
walks (and crawls) of life. The simplistic approach seen in many of the
examples are just that--simple illustrations to demonstrate a basic point
of functionality. These examples can be leveraged to create multi-tier
applications given a bit of study.
Another book that's worth reading is "Visual Basic .NET Business Objects"
(APress) by Rocky Lhotka.

There are some good articles on one of the MS sites, probably MSDN,
under a general heading of patterns.
