Visual softICE setup problems

Hi,
I am trying to set up one pc to run visual softICE and debug my driver on a
second machine connected via serial cable.
I believe that I have the serial connection set up properly. Do I need
softICE or visual softICE running on the target ?
I think this is a typical configuration. Does anyone know how to set this up?

You need to install the target files on your target. See chapter 2 "Target
installation and Configuration" of the "Using Visual SoftICE" manual.

Thanks for the reply Raphael,
I have gotten a little further. Now, when I run siremote (I sm attaching
via serial), It fails the Authenticating step.
I have tried changing every setting taht looked like it could be remotely
related, but no luck.
Any ideas ?

The error I now get says:

Authenticating...Unable to connect to target machine via serial cable

I know that the serial connectio is ok because I can run hyperterm across it.
 
I never use serial connection. Why don`t you ask the Compuware support.
They`re really fast.
