Visual J# redist url

Hi;

The setup program Visual Studio created for my add-in created a Visual J#
..NET launch condition and has a url of http://msdn.microsoft.com/vjsharp
assigned to it. The problem with this url is it is 3 links to get to the
actual download and the person doing this really has to understand what they
want to find it.

I would like to give a link that takes the user straight to the download
page so it's right there - no confusion and no difficulity finding it.

The link
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A9-84CA-4FEA-9E7D-7D674D2C7CA1&displaylang=en
does this. But my worry is - will this link still be good 2 years from now
(or even 6 months from now)?

Or is there a better link to use that is gauranteed to be good for the next
couple of years that will take you right to the J# redist download?

thanks - dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your posting. Regarding on the problem you mentioned, I think
such direct download link may change after certain period of time and we
can't ensure it will always work. For your scenario, I think you may
either put the unchangeable link "http://msdn.microsoft.com/vjsharp" in
your add-in and provide some note such as the tooltip so as to guide the
user to find teh sequential links or if you have a own site( a internet
home page is enough) where there provide an certain redirect page which
will always redirect the user to the updated link. How do you think ?

Thanks.
