I'm running Windows 2000 ME and IE 6.1, and just added a
critical update for Windows that was supposed to eliminate
this annoying pop-up, but I'm still getting it. The rest
of the message is:

Runtime Error!
Program:c:\Windows\Explorer.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it
in an unusual way. Please contact the application support
team for more information.

It pops up about every fifteen minutes. If you click on
the OK button within the message it shuts down the browser
and leaves you with a blank screen. If you ignore the
popup message it simply accumulates them while you
continue. What am I dealing with here -- is it a virus?

Thanks, Dave

I had this same issue. Administrators access worked, but all
restricted users on the XP machine got the error.

I ran the Adaware software, and this cleaned it up.

Can anyone explaine what it is that the Adaware software would have
cleaned up? Are we talking about a virus or what?
