Visual C++ Runtime Library Error Message

When I try to do anything in Word, I get this message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Progra~1\Micros~4\Office10\WINWORD.EXE

abnormal program termination

I have no choice but to click OK and Word shuts down.

Please help!
 
Try removing the application, then after restart reinstall it or ask in a
word or office group.
 
Could also be wrong version of msvcrt.dll. Check version of msvcrt.dll on
\windows\system32 folder. Also check PATH environment variable. Are there
any directories listed before \windows\system32? If there are, check if
there is msvcrt.dll on any of those folders. If you find any, check that
they are not older versions than what is on windows system folder. Also
check folder where you have winword.exe. The msvcrt.dll is special case of
dll search procedure and it is normally used only from windows system folder
even if there are other copies. Version of msvcrt.dll should be at least
6.0.x.x and propably even 6.10.x.x. My WXP Pro has version 7.0.2600.1106.
