When trying to launch IE 6 on a computer with Windows XP, I get the following
error message:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program:C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

This appliocation has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I downloaded the MSN Search Toolbar. I can get into Explorer by launching
the MSN Toolbar but not by clicking any of the Explorer desktop icons. Does
anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,
The Google toolbar has been causing the C++ Runtime error recently. Try
uninstalling the Google toolbar from Control Panel> Add/remove programs. You
may be able to reinstall it or you may have to wait for a newer version.

Hope this helps,

I am having the same problem but when I try to open Control Panel I get the
runtime error C:\Windows|explorer.exe

Can someone help me?

Hi,
[Assuming Windows XP]
See if you can access Control Panel by starting up in Safe Mode.

315222 - A description of the Safe Mode Boot options in Windows XP:

Uninstall the Google toolbar, if it's installed. But the Google toolbar is
probably not causing the Control Panel problem. Once you get into Control
Panel go to Internet Options> Tools> Manage add-ons and disable
non-Microsoft add-ons.

It could take some searching to find the program that's causing the C++
error.

An adware, spyware, malware program could be causing this. See these sites

I uninstalled the Google Toolbar, and now everything is working fine again.
Thank you! Hopefully, this is a glich and not a conflict purposely built
into the new MSN toolbar program.
