When I go to certain sites I get

Micosoft Visual C++ Runtime Librar
Runtime Erro
Program: C\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EX

Can someone please give me some help on this matter. Contact me at (e-mail address removed)

Hi,

There are many different causes of this error. The most likely cause is a
plugin or other addin to IE that is not functioning correctly. Gohip.com
is a common item, but other add in programs to IE may also cause the issue.

To resolve:

1. Go into add/remove programs and remove programs that are IE related.
Some common problem causers are gohip.com, netscape tune-up, and Common
Name Toolbar.

2. If that does not correct the problem, remove all items from the
"downloaded program files" folder.

3. If that fails, open IE, go to "view" and then "toolbars". Determine if
there are any non native toolbars and remove from add/remove programs if
there are.

4. Update to the newest version of IE or run a repair. Occasionally
corrupted IE components can cause this problem.

5. Here are the details of a similar support case:

Sample1:
Action:
Trying to browse the internet

Result:
Getting an error when opening browser "The Microsoft Visual C ++ runtime
library.
Runtime error Program C:\windows\explorer.exe abnormal Program
termination."

Cause:
It seems like a problem with the homepage set in your browser

Resolution/Recommendation:
We changed the homepage to MSN and the problem didn't come up any more

Sample 2:

ACTION: Tried to get into the Internet.
RESULT: Could not get to the Internet.
CAUSE: Spyware on the computer.
RESOLUTION: We removed the spyware, and we can now connect to the Internet.

Either of these should resolve your issue.

Hope this helps

Hi Asima
I now have a similar problem getting onto Explorer on 2 of the 3 User
accounts on my new computer - only 3 months old, so I assume I have an
up-to-date version of Explorer.

I get the following message:
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library
Runtime error
Program: C:/Program Files/Internet Explorer/iexplore.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

The problem seemed to arise after children were playing games.

I cannot do any of the things you suggest on the 2 problem User accounts
because I just get that message.

I deleted the problem User accounts and started new ones, but the problem
continued with them.

I removed a Yahoo toolbar from Explorer in the functioning user account, but
that didn't solve anything. There are no other Downloaded Files on that
account.

Do you have any other suggestions, please?
Kind regards, David Luke

I have the same issue. I have a new machine and I can only use IE on ne users
side ofthe machine at any time. If I try to use it or explorer on more than
one persons account on the machine at the same time I get the C++ runtime
error and they don't start. I have removed the Google toolbar that the
machine came with but that didn't solve it. Did you or has anyone found the
way to fix this one??

Thanks
Steve
