Hi,

I transferred my VB 5.0 Professional development system from Windows 98SE to
Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 1.

When I open a recent project I get
....\COMCTL32.OCX could not be loaded or ...\COMDLG32.OCX could not be
loaded.

I downloaded the latest version of vb5cli.exe which installed vbcmpfix.exe
1.1.0.47 27/02/1998
As Administrator, I ran vbcmpfix.exe which detected Professional Edition but
did not fix it.
Is this a security issue with the XP registry?
Or does vbcmpfix.exe just not work with XP?
Or is this not even the control installation problem after all?

TIA

Transferred, you do mean you uninstalled and reinstalled using the setup
program right? If not, the XP registry is missing all the information that
setup stores in it about VB 5.0, how it runs, how it compiles, where to find
system files, etc.
