D Dustin Harper Mar 13, 2008 #2 Right click your desktop, click Personalize, on the left pane click Change desktop icons. Check the Recycle Bin, and click Ok. It should be back! It happens when you click Delete, rather than Empty Recycle Bin when right clicking.
