Vista's Image Backup

What is provided by Vista's Image backup.

1. Can one restore from a boot media?
2. Can volumes be mounted from the backup archive?
3. Are such volumes read/write?
4. What about incremental/differential image backups?
5. Can there be several independent image backups?
 
Yes! No! No! Yes!

And finally No! You would have to backup anew to a new location.
