I messed up - when I uninstalled the native VistaRC2 NVIDIA driver (to
install the NVIDIA beta driver), I stupidly clicked 'yes' to the delete
driver messagebox. With NVIDIA's driver, I'm getting intermittent system
crashes & want to go back to the native driver.

Is there any way I can get this driver back? I tried manual driver
selection - only Std VGA is available. Tried searching the Vista install
DVD - I get the 'best driver already installed' messagebox.

Suggestions appreciated ....

Thank you,

Dale

Hmmm ... didn't think of that :~/. Only drawback is I installed other
software between than & now.

Good suggestion - thank you!

Dale could you post back if you were able to do system restore? my build 5728
is not keeping restore points, either manual ones or automatic. just curious.

I have read that certain dual boot systems may wipe out restore points.
That may be the problem on your system. It is here.

I decided not to try using restore. I do hope the final release of Vista
provides a way to extract baseline drivers out of the distribution media.

I was able to mostly correct the graphic driver crash problems. I
re-installed the motherboard chipset drivers using 'XP compatibility mode' &
run as Admin. Using this, it 'looked' like the viaagp driver got installed
(Dev Mgr still shows a Microsoft driver though). I then installed the NVIDIA
beta driver.

I was able to use the system for a whole day before I got a crash (improved
from every 5-60 minutes :~)).
