Vista/XP VPN

I cannot get Vista working with VPN. Specifically, I can't connected to a XP
Home VPN from Vista. It just keeps verifying user name and password for a few
minutes, then fails. Any ideas?
 
How do you setup XP Home as VPN host? Third part software? Any way, assuming
you receive VPN error 800 or 721, it could be GRE issue. These search

What is the error you are getting? Assuming this is a authentication error,
can you check what is the auth setting on the IC on XP? Make sure it matches
the auth type on both server / client matches.
Vista no more supports MSCHAPv1 and SPAP and in case these are the only
protocols on XP m/c you need to readjust these settings.

I have the same problem as the Frederick. But here are more details. I used
Cisco VPN to connect to my office XP Professional on a university network
from a XP desktop and a XP labtop at home. They all worked fine. After I
upgraded to Vista Premium on the desktop, I cannot connect the VPN (while I
am still able to connect using my labtop). Tried all possible ways mentioned
and all versions of Cisco VPN. Still no connection. Error details are below.
Would very much approciate any assistance. I've also tried the Vista built-in
VPN. No connection either. After diagnosis, the message says, "Windows
confirmed that ".....[server]" is current online, but is not responding to
connection attempts at this time. This usually means that a firewall is
running somewhere between the two computers and blocking "pptp". Windows has
confirmed that Windows Firewall on this computer is correctly configured to
allow this connection. However, a remote firewall might be blocking your
connection."

Error details with Cisco VPN:

Secure VPN Connection terminated by Peer. Reason 433: (Reason Not Specified
by Peer. Connection terminated on.... Duration 00:00.00
