Hello:
Can someone please help me with this? I am not very knowledgeable about how
to fix network issues.
My XP desktop is able to connect to my University's VPN just fine.
BUT, I can not get my new Vista deksotp to connect to the VPN.
The helpdesk is unresponsive, just saying it is a problem with microsoft.

Is this a known issue? Is there a patch out? I can't find one.
Thank you!
Daniel

There are several know issues with Vista and VPN connections. It's unlikely
anyone can help you when you give no substantive information to work with.
What kind of VPN e.g. IPSEC, PPTP? What server? What happens when your
try to connect? What specific error code, if any?

Previously, I was able to use the XP SP2 VPN utility with all the default
settings.

Server Name: vpn.fuqua.duke.edu
Typical settings (Validate identiy-> Require Secured PWD, require data
enryption)
Type of VPN - Automatic

This allows me to connect just fine.

But when I replicate the settings using the VPN utlity, it does not go past
veryfing username/pwd and says the wizard cannont connect

Where can I find the error log or a log of why it can't connect?

Thank you,
Daniel
