Vista (v 6.0.6000.16386) is extremely slow when shutting down (turning off,
going into hibernation or restarting). It takes well over a minute to shut
down.

I've searched these and other forums and googled the problem but can't find
any solution.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

System: MSI P965 Platinum, Intel Core2 Duo E6400, 2Gb OZC Gold 800 RAM,
Leadtek 7900GS video card, 320Gb Seagate SATA HDD.

Thanks Mark

I noticed the same. If you look in Event Viewer you might find out what the
problem is. I think Vista has same problem as XP did in shutting down
because something is accessing the registry at shut down. I know mine is
Nero. Maybe they will come out with a UPHClean utility for Vista.
