How long are we supposed to wait for these Vista Redemption Upgrades ?
I've been waiting 5 weeks now, surely it doesn't take that long to get one
to Australia.

Ditto the UK. I have sent my laptop receipt three times with no
acknowledgement from (e-mail address removed)'

The upgrade redemption website just says COA validated status with no
shipping date. Moduslink are handling this very poorly. I purchased my Acer
laptop from Currys in the UK in good faith that the free Vista upgrade would
happen. Of course Currys are no longer interested and Microsoft will blame
Moduslink.

What a cock up!

Hi Bob,

4-6 weeks after release of Vista in your country, and possibly longer *if*
the system manufacturer hasn't supplied the necessary updates that accompany
the upgrade.

Vista was released in the UK end of Jan and I'm still waiting for my VRU -
which by my calculation is 7 weeks and counting. Regarding the "updates"
though - we could end up waiting forever as updates happen weekly, don't
they?

Thanks for the info guys.
This reminds me of the Taxation Office, if they owe you money you can wait
years buut if you owe them they are onto you straight away lololol

Hi Paul,

I was refering to updates from the manufacturer that include necessary
proprietary device drivers for the purchased hardware as well as
updates/patches for the supplied software, not ones you would get from
Windows Update. Moduslink is stuck waiting until they are supplied by the
vendor for each model before delivery of the upgrade disk.
