my only copy of windows xp, i do not have a disk to reinstall it if i format
the c drive, is there any way i can get a disk or uninstall vista, i do not
need to keep any information, ps. it is all on one partition.

Sorry to severly disopoint you but their is no way to get rid of it with out
reformating and reinstalling windows.

I upgraded from windows xp pro to vista beta 2 and now my pc cannot read any
cd's only the windows vista dvd so how do I uninstall vista if I cant run my
windows xp install cd?

I had the same problem as you do. But now it's okay. What I did was to
download Sonic RecordNow! trial edition (a customer support assistant told me
to do this). I don't know if it would work on your PC. One more thing I
discovered is that this beta version of Windows Vista read the CDs slower. So
you must pay close attention on the green light on the CD-ROM to show a sign
that the CD in the drive is being read. If there's no more light, and nothing
happen, then it's the problem with the settings of the computer. Try going to
the Control Panel and choose Autoplay. Choose the settings for all the media
format. I suggest to choose Open Folder if there is that choice. Hope this
would work.
