Hello!

I installed Vista Ultimate 32-bit on my notebook as test version from a
Vista Business Update DVD. Now I got Vista Ultimate and I tried to enter
activate the testversion with the Ultimate Key. But the activation server is
telling me that the key from my Vista Ultimate DVD is already in use.
Now I am wondering if I need to install Vista Ultimate from the DVD that I
got the product key from.
I thought it would not make a difference from which media you installed
Vista as long as your product key is valid.
(e.g. I did that with the Office 2007 test version: Tested Office 2007
standard which I downloaded form the internet and activated once I got the
installation DVD [without installing it from this media]).

Any suggestions/ideas?

Kind regards!

There is only one retail DVD. It's the same for full and upgrade and
contains all versions. What controls the version that's installed is the
product key. Where did you get the Ultimate product key? If it won't
activate by internet you'll have to do the phone activation.

Well, I thought that all the Vista copies are equal.

Today I tried it again... guess what: Now it swollowed my porduct key!
Odd enough, I would say... but I won't complain. ;)

Thank you for your help!
