Vista Ultimate installation problems

I run the Upgrade Advisor and it says my hardware passed. All I have plugged
in is video, hard drive, 1 rom, floppy, keyboard and mouse.
Right after it says Windows Vista is going to run for the first time, I get
a blue screen indicating that the device driver gets stuck in an infinite
loop, usually being a problem with the driver itself or with the device
driver programming the hardware incorrectly. The technical infromation reads
"stop: (0x848da7e8, 0x0000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"
The computer restarts and I have the option to go into Safe Mode, Start
Normal etc. Doesn't matter which one I choose it says Windows wasn't
installed properly, run the installation from the cd/dvd again.
I bought new 1GB RAM to eliminate the possibility of the problem being my
RAM. I have tried three different hard drives, Western Digital, Maxtor,
Fujitsu with more than adequate space. I had a friend try my HD and video
card in their computer and Vista works fine.
What more can I try to make this work.

478 Chipset
3.0 GHz
1 GB Ram
ATI Radeon X1600 video
Western Digital 250 Gig IDE HD
Floppy
 
You may have a hardware problem...

Try to disconnect a hardware device and test (example : open your pc,
disconnect your graphic card and test with another graphic card, idem for
memory, etc)

And disconnect all USB's and Peripherals
 
Dear Wheeler,

I am having the exact same scenario you are having except that I am running
the ATI Radeon X1300 Video Card. The upgrade install goes thru ok and when
widnows boots for the first time I get the stop error

(0x84ac8020, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) My stop error is slightly
different, but It looks like the video card is a common thread.

I ran all the upgrade advisors and everything comes up clean........and I
dont have another video card.
