VISTA to use both updates

Hi

How can I enable the VISTA Ultimate machine to use both Windows Update and
WSUS?

Currently the machine is updated from WSUS, but when I goto IE -
Tools -Windows Update it just brings up the Control Panel - System and
Maintenance - Windows Update.

In Windows XP you were able to go to Windows Update.

I use both on my machine to check for updates.

Windows Update in Vista uses the Control Panel, System and Maintenance,
Windows Update interface, not the one via IE.

Does it mean then that if you have a WSUS server in your domain and the
VISTA machine is configured to check the local wsus server, then it cannot
be used to check with the MS windows update servers manually?

This scenario is possible with wSUS3. The Release Candidate was just
announced, try it and your Vista machines will be able to reach MU
while they are still managed.
