I have a dell 410 which i upgraded to vista home premium. i am running 3 gigs
of ram on a intel 6300 dual core 1.86. it is a standard system with no funky
hardware added. here is the problem. vista works fine except at random
times - every twenty mins? or so it will pause / freeze. the mouse pointer
even freezes on the screen. average time is 30 seconds & then it returns to
normal. in fact it just froze a few minutes ago when i was printing
something out & it froze in the middle of the printjob. It does not matter
what application I am running either.

I have no clue what the problem is. It just stops for 30-45 seconds. very
odd & very anoying. any help would be great!

Is there a lot of hard drive activity during the freeze? Have you run
antivirus and spyware scans? You could try leaving the Task Manager
processes window open on the desktop so you can see if a particular process
is grabbing the CPU during the freeze.
