I am attempting to prevent system restore from backing up anything with the
file extension .dtt. If I create a restore point when the system does not
have any .dtt files and later use that restore point, any files with the .dtt
extension are removed. Is there any way to stop system restore from backing
up .dtt files?

Rick,

Thanks for the response. Do you know of any other possible method to
prevent system restore from backing up .dtt files? I have created a restore
point which had no .dtt files saved any where on the system, I then created
several .dtt files, rebooted and restored to the restore point create earlier
and the .dtt files that I create were gone. I have added numerous entries
into the FilesNotToBackup registry key using both wilcards and full paths
without any success. Is there any other method to exluding files within
system restore?
