Hi, believe it, its me again thats done something silly.

I downloaded Vista SP2 beta from Bink's site, and after installation it
appears that now, my
Vista is an evaluation copy, expiring in 2010. It now also have a silly
notice to that effect in
the right hand corner of my desktop. There are quite a few new things in the
SP, but I feel
quite disappointed that the update did some other things too.

I will try and uninstall it, but this is just also for the info of others
with itchy fingers.............

It's a beta copy for evaluation and just like every other Windows beta for
as long as I can remember it's version is properly identified. When you
uninstall it after you are finished evaluating it and either install the
release version or decide you don't want it, the notice will not be there.

Eddie, it is not everybody that understands everything. I am surprised at
your bad manners.
You are not obliged to read everything. Sorry I landed in your way.

The warning does not apply to your copy of Vista, but to the beta copy of
SP2 that you installed. Folks who obtained copies through legitimate
channels also got the release notes explaining this issue. The warning is
quite proper as the SP2 beta will expire on the date noted.

the beta will expire but
well after the final release
of sp2.

As good as Brink;s site is for certain things I was really disappointed that he
posted the Vista SP2 on his site. This was a bad and flagrant move on his part. He
should at least put up a warning that this and many other issues associated with SP2
that is downloaded from any site apart from the official distribution for beta
testers holds issues such as yours. Reformatting is not fun. Is it ?

in here to "fish" new users all the time by posting links towards his site?
