Vista SP1

I've just installed SP! on my Vista Ultimate machine and now I don't have
Control Panel, Printers folder, and the system keeps rebboting itself. How
can I uninstall SP1 as I did a backup an created a system restore point
before upgrading but don't know how to have access to those tools?

That was incorect. Since SP1 is still in testing...as a beta tester you were
supposed to have backed up your entire system...
such as cloning it to another drive.
The idea was NOT to have use MS backup.

Too late now of course.

If you can boot to safe mode try to get to the control panel and uninstall
SP1

....otherwise...backup your data *externally*


then reinstall the OS
 
Depending on the manufacturer if a name brand or if he built the system,
Holding down F5 should boot him to Safe Mode.

When you say you dont have control panel, printers folder etc, what do you
mean? The icons are just not there on the start menu when you click the start
buttong (which in Vista is the Windows Logo'ed button)?

Also, when you say the machine keeps restarting, when does it do that? Even
before you can login? or can you login and then after sometime is when if
starts rebooting?

When I click windows logo butto (Start button) I have the icon for Control
Panel but when I click on it it says (empty). The icon for Printers doesn't
appear at all, right clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties doesn't
open any window, also clicking on Windows Update doesn't work at all.
I also tried to uninstall SP1 in safe mode but after rebooting a message
appears saying " uninstall wasn't succesfull and reverts to SP1.

After logging in the machine suddenly rebbots (bsod and rebbots)

Tried to follow the instructions to uninstall SP1 but the search for
Programs and Features shows " no items match your search"
Any ideas?

I tried to do a system restore picking a point before SP1 but to no avail. I
get a message saying the restore was not successfull
Don't know what else to do
 
I would like to thank to all that tried to help, I finally solved the problem
by booting from the Vista CD and then restore the system to the restore point
just before installing SP1
