Even when you reboot your machine, Vista will remember that last placement
of each Gadget.

Note: In some cases you will find that the Gadgets will not remember your
settings and will replace the gadgets back their default order. This is a
known bug and hopefully will be fixed when SP1 comes out.

I installed Vista SP1 but still the Gadgets will not remember my settings
sometimes after boot and will replace the gadgets back their default order.
Anyone can confirm this that the bug is not solved in SP1?

Jaccies,

I haven't had any problems with the placement order of gadgets since
SP1 was installed. Prior to SP1 I had problems almost every time I started
my computer.
I haven't had any problems with my default gadget settings, either
prior to or after SP1. However, if you are experiencing these problems you
can go to www.thehobbylounge, register and download the "SideUp-sidebar
backup gadget".
I have provided a link for the backup gadget below. It's an excellent
gadget.
