Vista screensaver not working

I installed a trial version of a 3D aquarium (Visa enabled they say). I had
to type in a password to start it. Decided not to buy it and uninstalled
through the control panel. Now the Vista screen saver will not start when it
is supposed to. I have checked the power options and neither the screen nor
the hard disk are set to turn off; it is still on the setup of Balanced.
I have been told that the registry may have lost the Vista screensaver
command.
How do I get this back without doing a reinstall?

Hi Jim
I was hoping not to have to do that! Can I edit the registry? Does anyone
know what the registry should say regarding the screensaver?

Are you using a wireless mouse or keyboard? If so, be sure that you have the
recommended update installed: Microsoft - Other Hardware - HID Non-User
Input Data Filter

I have a wireless mouse and keyboard on a new computer (just this week). The
screensaver was working before I stupidly tried this fish screensaver. All
the drivers are new and up-to-date.

Installing the above mentioned update helped me with the screensaver issue. I
have Vista Ultimate with a Microsoft Wireless Laser Keyboard 6000 v2.0 and a
Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. Cleared the issue right up after
installing update. Thank you for the tip!!
