Well to be honest the Best thing you can do
is USE THE WIZARDS
if there is a wizard Don't do it manually
Doing it your own way is the easiest way to Break SBS2008
(easier to break SBS2008 than SBS2003 BTW)
I' re connect PC's using the wizardshttp://connect
It does about 57 different settings
and could fix everything you need.
also make sure that all VISTA machines are "UP TO DATE" with all SP and
Patches

Probably, as this is a continuance of a question you helped me with
over there,
Vista Business, SBS 2008 & mapped drives...
No, I didn't usehttp://connect-this is my first experience with
2008 SBS & I've always been a 'learn as I go' type of guy.
Fortunately, this is a small network & isn't anything 'mission-
critical'.
Other extenuating circumstances, this was once a member of a Win2k
domain that had only one DC that crashed & burned last year.
This has been a learning experience, so say the least!
After joining domain, copying files needed from old profile, etc., I
left it last night about mid-night, with the spinning circle (is there
a name for that like 'spinning beachball of death?), and it was
exactly like that at 8 this morning when I came in. I rebooted &
logged in as Admin, logged back out & things seemed to have settled
down.
Do you know any good training courses, (keep in mind I'm not looking
for certification, just knowledge), that's not 1000's of pages that
you could recommend?

Mike,
This probably should be asked in the SBS2008 group
Instructions to access this group can be found
herehttp://
www.sbs2008.com
However did you use thehttp://connect
to connect the PC to the domain?
However this issue does sound like a Corrupt profile
Login to the Local Account PC and retry thehttp://connect
(And post what happens in the SBS2008 newsgroup)
Thanks
Russ

I joined a vista laptop to a SBS 2008 domain & after logging on, I
just get the spinning wheel next to the cursor & everything is
pretty
much locked up.
Where can I start to fix this!- Hide quoted text -
