IMHO, ANY is too much...
If someone had told me 3 years ago that I would be planning to migrate my
entire LAN away from Windows because the newest version would be so poorly
designed, I would have offered them a straight jacket.
The more I use Vista (and I have used it for over 3 years, including BETA)
the more I am convinced it is really a form of Malware...I wonder why
Defender doesn't detect it as such...LOL
I just got a brand new dual core/4GB/512MB PCIe/500GB SATA2 machine with VHP
loaded, and I am collecting hardware drivers to install XP.
In the unlikely event that a future service pack makes Vista useable, I will
have the media to reinstall it.
Actually, I think MS decided they couldn't make things work in the original
version they were working on; so they set aside the code and did a little
tweaking on the Server OS they were already putting the finishing touches
on. They call the resulting 'Server OS with a dashboard to look like
Windows' VISTA.
(Look at what we did...pulled the wool over your eyes...isn't it a beautiful
view...)
What I see certainly isn't a 'user friendly' desktop OS.
While I can make it function, I see no reason to go to that much extra
effort to setup each machine properly (plus the dissatisfaction during every
session) when a stable, mature and user friendly OS is a just few clicks
away.
