Will the Vista activations work similar to retail XP activations (ie
resetting after 120 days) ? When I buy Vista in a few weeks, and then
transfer it to new hardware in say six months, will internet activation
still work?

Yes. Although I'm not sure if they have changed the length of time compared
to XP.

Keep in mind that you can't transfer OEM licensed software - according to
the license terms, but I can't say about technically. So, Brian, be sure
you buy the full retail version when you buy it.

You will be able to activate a retail license on a new computer. For
convienience buy a retail full edition. I don't think the '120-day' rule is
in play anymore, at least with regards to Vista. You won't be asked to
phone in unless you reactivate an 'excessive' number of times, whatever that
is. Even then it is no biggie.

I know, I meant to say in my original post that I'm getting a retail
licence. Make sit a lot easier when upgrading hardware!
