It has been suggested that installing a graphics card for use instead
of relying on the inbuilt graphics facility is to be recommended if I
dual boot Windows Vista Ultimate Edition with Windows XP Home Edition.
This would be added along with adding a further 512 mb DRAM to the 512
mb already installed.

Comments and suggestions please.

TIA

Well, replacing built-in graphics with a graphics card can improve
performance since the built-in graphics adapter is usually "low end". You
would want to research this though, to get the best bang for the buck.
Specifically, make sure that the video adapter has at least 128megs of ram
which is the minimum to turn on the Aero interface. The other advantage is
that whatever system memory the built-in graphics adapter was using becomes
available to the system. Regarding the 512mg ram upgrade, I would say
that's a very good idea. I would not run Vista with less then 1gb. Good
luck.

Thanks Vic for your comments.
