Has anyone got Remote Desktops working in Vista Beta 2 ?
Is so how please?

I can't find TSMMC.MSC or an ADMINPAK msi on Longhorn Server Beta 2 CD

Thanks

In Windows Vista:
Click Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Remote Desktop Connection

If its not available there Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run >
type %systemroot%\system32\mstsc.exe

If you are using the x64 Edition, type %systemroot%\sysWOW64\mstsc.exe

Remote Desktop in Vista is teh suck. It's plain annoying.

Andre, TWISTER is talking about the MMC snap-in from adminpak.msi that
allows you to add several RDP connections and switch back and forth through
them without opening additional windows. It's great, but I can't get it on
Vista and that's disappointing. I assumed that it would be on the LH Server
disk, but apparently it's not. You can always try copying the Remote
Desktop MMC files from a machine with Adminpak installed, should be two
files (a .msc and .dll) and register the dll. I made it work once on an
older Vista build but it was all wonky, so yeah it probably isn't a good
idea! :)

Ahh Remote Desktops - the name of the MMC console. First appeared in Windows
Server 2003 - gotta love it :o)
Yeh, the workaround should be as simple as Brad says - copy over the two
files, the *.msi and the *.dll and it should work (fingers crossed).

I wasn't wrong:

I just didn't answer the part about MMC snap in on Longhorn Server.

I want to use RDC in vista beta 2 as well, but i would be connected to my
vista box from my xp box using the built in RDC client. I've turned it on in
vista and am not running the vista firewall, but on the xp box it won't
connect at all. it says the server pc which would be vista the resources
might be all used up or something else in the error window, i forget though.
the ip was right as was the user log in for my pcs.

It is really strange - I've tried so many things to screw around with RDC
but nothing - changing IP's during connection, suddenly pulling out plugs,
changing entire workgroup/domains, either way... it still connects and
works. I've literally had *no* problems with Terminal Services or the RDC
:o)

Connected to Vista from XP without any issues. Did you make sure you
select "Allow connections from computers running any
version of Remote Desktop"? I am able to connect to my Vista x64 machine
just fine. :) See link
