My habit is i have to inspect the files' date deleted in recycle bin before
i permanently erase them.

Each time, i need to change the right pane View from Tiles to Details, and
Vista NEVER remember this action like XP.

What the hell is going to vista?

How about a new habit? Create a new folder called: Almost Deleted. Put
the files you want to delete in that folder. Then once the files are in
that folder, you can inspect them. Once you inspect them, then you can
throw them in the trash and empty the trash.

No problem.

Vista tends to forget folder settings whenever it feels like it. It
also tends to remember them whenever it feels like it. Invariably it
does the two actions at the exact point where you don't want it done.

Make sure that hidden files and system files are visible using folder
options icon on the classic control panel and then go and delete
the $RECYCLE.BIN folder on each drive- partition you have.

tell me if this helps
