I am attempting to set up a RDC over the Internet. The host computer is
running Vista Ultimate and the client computers are running Vista home
Premium. I have opened up port 3389 on the router, which the host computer
is connected to and have given the host computer a static IP address via the
router. When I attempt to logon from a client computer using the IP address
of the host computer it opens up a grey background screen with a Log on to
Windows authentication screen, however it is attempting to logon to a
Windows 2003 Server and not the host computer running Vista Ultimate. I am
not sure if this logon is for the server at the ISP that provides the IP
address for the host computer or what is exactly going on.
I have disabled the antivirus and firewall in an attempt to get the host >
client connection going. After I am able to get that connection going I will
then deal with the antivirus/firewall issue.
Any ideas on where I am going wrong of further steps I need to take?
Thanks for any help,
Dave
