I have only found out that RC2 was out and now i cannot find anywhere to
download it why has Microsoft gone back to RC1 on their website whats going
on and how can i download RC2

I'm with you. Why would MS allow downloading RC1 (first version) but cut off
any more downloads of RC2? It doesn't make sense. I also missed RC2 because
of a busy week that didn't allow me to check the blog site where I usually
hear of the new versions. I still have problems with the version I'm running
of RC1 and won't risk upgrading to the final Vista if I don't know they've
been solved for my computer. I would think MS would want people testing the
latest version to show it is ok...or to find bugs that still exist rather
than having them download RC1 which is already obsolete. And the resources
MS must provide to download RC2 are no greater than for RC1, which is still
able to be downloaded...the link is still live.

Oh, well, trying to figure out MS is pointless, I guess.

i was lucky to download the RC2. I do not know why MS decided to discontinue
the CPP download of RC2. Is it possible that it might do with the hyper
criticism they noticed in this newsgroup about the RC2 in the first 24 hours
after itsrerelease? There were a lot of unnecessary negative comments.
These comments might hurt perception of the product if not dealt with. This
is just a speculation.

I would stay with RC1 anyway, it runs much better than RC2. Tons of people
had problems with it, who didn't have the same issues with RC1.... Probably
why they pulled it and went back to RC1.

I wiped and reinstalled RC1.1 and everything is peachy again.

I guess they are frantically trying to put together "RC3" right about now...

Microsoft pulled the download because they stated, even before it went up,
that it was going to be very limited download. Their target was met and
exceeded. The download disappeared, just as planned.
