You can download the beta 2 release which works on RC1 here:
https//jdk6.dev.java.net

Ufff... I really dont like Sun that much - I really prefered the old days
with Microsoft Java VM - a decent VM - Suns version has this coffe-cup all
over and stuff... but thanks - I guess its the only way out...

since Windows 2000 with SP4 Microsoft does not offer VMs.

They had legal issues/ trouble with Sun, so Microsoft removed their own VM.

Windows XP had never a built in JVM and needed Suns JRE.

So it is with Vista.

See that you get a Version 6.xxx( Beta ) , for version 5.xx of Suns JRE has
issues with Aero and flips to Aero Basic.

Actually that's not so. MS' virtual machine was taken out for SP1a and
after. It was in SP1.

Exactly! And SP1 was then renamed SP1A as far as I remember. Still Microsoft
had luck to support Windows systems running Microsoft Java VM - like
updates, but as far as I remember this will end dec 31. 2007, and installing
their own version of VM thru Windows Update was not a part of the deal...

Anyway, I asked the question, in the beginning, just to found out if
Microsoft had figured out a new way to implement their own software instead
of redirecting to Sun (which I dont like at all). But I guess that Sun is
the only solution on the VM-issue.

That is so much not true... the issue regarding XP was fixed with the new
minor update (the update from SP1 to SP1A) in SP1 which then was renamed to
SP1A (as far as I remember) - I dont remember it very well but I guess there
was one year or so from XP was released until SP1A was released... I have
always used Microsoft VM on all my XP-installations - its only a couple of
mb compared to Suns version which gives you loads of crap beside the VM -
and I dont like the Sun-branding either everytime there is a Java-thing on a
webpage...

Well, I dont like Sun at all but still, its the only solution on my
VM-issue - sadly.
