This is a small thing, but kind of annoying. In XP, I was able to set the
start menu so that the Connect option was a menu, so that I could quickly
select a vpn or a dial up. In Vista there doesn't appear to be a way to do
that. Any ideas?

Press start and its on the right side of the menu in between network and
control panel?

Simply right click the Network icon in the notification area

(Try showing the Network icon at the notification area by right clicking the
Start button>properties>notification tab>customize>right click network icon
notification area>connect to a network>connect to a workplace> then you get
the option to Use My dialup or Connect to VPN):

or

All you need to do probably is to go to Start>Connect to>click set up a
connection or a network

Sorry that I wasn't clear. In XP you could do advanced options on how to
display the start menu so that the connect appears but has an arrow next to
it so your choices (VPN, dial up) are presented as a menu choice. In Vista
the Connect appears, but it doesn't have an arrow. So your answer is, yes,
I do have a connect on the menu. :) When you select Connect, a window
appears and all that works. I just liked the "advanced" way XP did it.
Maybe no one used the advanced setting in XP.

Thank you for your suggestions.
