Vista RC1 and packaged IE

After upgrading my beta 2 version of Vista to RC1 I came across a strange
problem, I could no longer get to google or gmail anymore. Any time I tried
to go to these two sites, IE would just sit until it eventually timed out.
When I hit the diagnose problem button, it said that my firewall was blocking
port 80. I found this strange because I was able to go to yahoo with IE, this
problem hadn't occurred under beta 2, none of the other computers on my
network are having problems getting to any website, and when I switched back
to my XP pro partition, I had no problems getting to google or gmail.

I then tried to access microsoft's community page, and found that while I
could get to microsoft's home page, I couldn't navigate anywhere beyond the
home page. At first I thought something had gone wrong during the upgrade, so
I formated the Vista partion and installed RC1 fresh. I found I still had no
dice with IE and the internet. It kept erroring out and thinking that my
firewall was blocking port 80. It is true that I am behind a linksys router,
however, port 80 is most definetly not being blocked by the router. I then
checked my RC1 iso and found that it had a good MD5 hash.

This is a most annoying problem, what should I do?

Hi Joe,

Reports of trouble like this have come in abundance with users that have
Marvell Yukon network adapters. I've found that the quick and easy way to
resolve it is to install XP drivers over the Vista ones. Others have
reported success by disabling IP4v checksum offload in the advance
properties of the network card using device manager, or by running the
following from an elevated command prompt (right click/run as
administrator): "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled".
