Hi all,

Has anyone tried installing Vista on a computer that already has WinXP ?
I've just had to install winxp again on a computer and get the dual boot
option.

I was hoping I could install Vista on another computer that also already has
WinXP and be able to boot Vista when I want and WinXP another time.

I'm looking for someone who has actually done this
or would appreciate to read that MS has strongly suggested against this in
the
hyperlinked article. etc.

Anyway, all the best of luck to everyone testing Vista.

My appologies for this post.
I had attempted to looked thru the internet and then this site before posting.
I was getting very strange responses from my searchs on this site and
explorer somtimes locking up and other times returning an error.
So in despiration I attmpted to post this query and again received errors.

Hopefully all is well again.

Yes, you can dual boot. My recommendation is to take an image of your hard
drive before you install Vista, just in case anything goes wrong. To do a
clean install and achieve dual boot, launch setup from within XP and select
Clean Install, and Vista will recognize Vista and XP and configure the boot
loader accordingly.
