Microsoft is building a tool into Windows Vista that will rate a PC based on how well it is running and on how much it can take advantage of the new operating system's capabilities. As this screenshot shows, the performance rating appears in the System panel of Vista's control panel.

Look at screenshot two ... the score is out of a total of 5. :D

Hopefully we'll get a "tool" to test the system BEFORE we load Vista ...

Nope ... I haven't used Win 95/98 for some time ... Linux is on two PCs and XP is on another ... when Vista comes out I'll be buying it too. ;)

Inferior software, in my eyes, is software that don't work or do it's job properly ... I am constantly changing with the times. I do like the freedom and anonymity of Linux to go, and do as I please on the Internet, without fear of reprisals from websites', downloads, infestations and any other such nasties ... and after all, I am an Internet browser. :D

It don't mean I have to forgo my obligations and NOT produce information for your brain to porously absorb. :p

Took me a long time to move over to running XP on my home PC, but see your point. I can see within a year i will be running both Linux & MS, may even get myself a Mac:D

I'm looking forward to seeing Vista in the flesh :)
From what I've seen of it it looks quite impressive but noth earth shattering.

From the screenshot it looks like you can change your windows product key! Surely thats just asking for trouble

Bring it on ;)

Cheers,

Rich
