You need a Vista product key to install Vista.

thanks shanedog, but after reading some of the posts, im not sure if i wanna
install it what do u think lol
thanx

I certainly wouldn't install it as a primary system - it is naturally still
in development, afterall. If you're having 2nd thoughts, likely your best
bet is to stick with XP for now.

Go for it man.... You won't regret. RC2 Rocks!

I used RC2 as my primary OS and I love it. No joke. Initially it was slow
due to video drivers but it's been updated with the latest beta drivers.
Works great!!

how about on a secondry drive (slave) and does it install as a clean install
if u get my meaning

You can install it as a second operating system on either a separate drive or
a separate partition from your XP installation... thus allowing you to "dual
boot" and choose which system you want to run each time your reboot your
computer.

Yoshi, yes Vista is getting there... but would you suggest that a novice user
install it as his/her ONLY operating system?

I think Microsoft has received a lot of unwarranted flack over Vista.
They've done pretty well with it so far and it's more stable on my computer
than XP was at this stage.

Hey Bill... do I get my free copy of Vista Ultimate edition now????

hmmm.... well.... i think RC2 is very stable but if they don't know what
they are doing, then maybe waiting is a good idea.

I just think if they do install RC2 and don't like it, they can always go
back to XP UNLESS it's a problem?

See, Yoshi, there in lies the problem. The average user does not have the
skill to go back to XP. The average user does not back-up their computer.

Your right...
