I have two major issues with Vista Home Premium (HP OEM version).
The first is the refusal of the software to recognize one of my drives. I
have an external Maxtor 320 gig drive which is split into two logical drives
(G: and H
. Vista recognizes drive H: but cannot read G:
When I hook this drive to my other computer (Gateway with 1 Gig ram, running
XP Home) there is no problem recognizing all my drives, including G: When I
use Acronis Disk Director there is no problem recognizing G: and the files
it contains.
I have tried everything including using Chkdsk to verify this partition (it
checks out fine).
Any suggestions would be welcome. If it weren't for not being able to find
Ethernet drivers for this HP Laptop I would switch (upgrade) to XP in a
moment.
Second problem: Vista is periodically freezing up on me necessitating a
reboot to get it working again. I have checked 3rd party programs I use
(Avast, Spyware Doctor, Zone Alarm, Acronis Disk Director, and Acronis True
Image) without being able to put a finger on the lock up problem.
All the above programs run fine my my Gateway XP Laptop.
Thanks for any help that might help me solve these problems.
