Hi,
I'm having issues with an application that runs off the network encountering
Fatal Error's when Vista goes to sleep. There are two avenues of
investigation I am following.
The first is it seem that if Vista transitions to sleep as configured by the
GPO the Fatal Errors usually do not occur. In the GPO on the Monitor and
Hard Drive power down after 17mins. However if you select Sleep off the
Start Menu then the Fatal Errors usually do occur. There is obviously a
difference between the 2 sleep transitions, could someone confirm what this
difference actually is.
Secondly, there is a GPO setting called "Turn on Applications to Prevent
Sleep Transitions" which supposedly allows application to stop Vista from
going to Sleep. Does anyone know how effective this policy is, how do
application stop the Sleep Trasition etc i.e. how can I determine if the
application in question will be able to stop Vista from going to sleep.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers.
