Vista partitioning strategy

I'm going to use a 160GB (one disk) windows vista ultimate notebook(4GB
ram). Regardless of what some "experts" state about disk fragmentation, I've
noticed that packing "similar" data on multiple partition, fastens
defragmentation.

That is, I've planned the following disk partitions (NTFS)

C: - 50GB - Holds operating system and software apps
D: - 10 GB - Holds temporary storage like temp folder and pagefile
E: - 40 GB - Holds users data
F: - 60 GB - Holds multimedia like pics and vids.

Would like to share and think with yous out there......

I can't imagine anything less important than making defrag run quickly,
since running defrag more than monthly is, on most PCs, a waste of time.

My advice about partioning NTFS HDs is to part based on your backup
strategy. E.g., if you want to backup data nightly, the OS weekly, and
temp stuff never, then a 3-part HD might simplify backup procedures.
